BVU Expands Fraud Management Solution License

Company Continues To Rely On Equinox Protector

(NASHVILLE, TN) January 27, 2017 — Leading telecom solutions supplier Equinox Information Systems announced today that BVU Authority has expanded their licensing of the Protector fraud management system (FMS) to add the Case Manager Portal (CMP). Based in Bristol, VA, BVU provides electricity, water, wastewater, and fiber-optic telecommunication and information services to the City of Bristol, Virginia; Washington County, Virginia; Abingdon, Virginia; and Scott County, Virginia. BVU first formed a relationship with Equinox in 2011 when BVU licensed the Protector fraud management platform to monitor their AMA records. With this initiative, BVU is upgrading their implementation to include the CMP, allowing analysts to investigate alerts from browser-enabled devices for more efficient incident response time.

“BVU is committed to delivering safe, reliable services at the lowest possible cost to our customers,” commented John Fredericks, who is Network Engineer at BVU Authority. “As we’ve continued to grow our customer base, Protector directly supports this mission, and the service and support from everyone at Equinox is really excellent.”

Protector, the most installed fraud management system in the U.S., has a proven record of helping telecom companies combat even the newest fraud schemes. The system instantly notifies analysts when suspicious activity occurs, with higher risk incidents triggering more frequent, escalated alerts, including the ability to automatically shut down activity when warranted. Currently processing hundreds of millions of call records per day for customers worldwide, Protector has well earned its reputation by saving carriers hundreds of millions of dollars in fraud losses last year alone.

“We love our customers and work hard to earn their trust in our products and in our people,” explained David West, Executive Vice President of Equinox Information Systems. “We are thrilled that BVU continues to rely on the Protector fraud management system and has selected us for this most recent project.”
