Nashville, TN - September 5, 2003 - Nashville-based Equinox Information Systems today announced that NewSouth Communications, a leading Internet and voice services company, has upgraded its current licenses of Protector telecom fraud management software to the latest version: Protector 10. To support the company's growth, NewSouth has also elected to acquire additional Protector 10 licenses for six more call detail record (CDR) data sources. The total agreement positions NewSouth Communications as a leader in fraud management and represents the implementation of advanced anti-fraud software on its entire telecommunications network.
Protector 10 anti-fraud software provides real-time fraud protection to carriers by identifying instances in which a customer's actual usage varies from expected usage thereby indicating possible fraudulent activity. The system allows NewSouth Communications to identify suspicious network activity quickly and stop fraud in progress.
"Protector has proven very successful in alerting NewSouth of potential cases of telecom fraud," noted Mark Pfeiler, NewSouth's Network Operations Center Director. "With the upgrade to Protector 10, we are confident that its new, more robust features will provide yet another level of security for fraud monitoring and case management. We are excited to implement the software and proud to protect our network and end-customers from fraudsters and hackers."
"Protector 10 will be a great asset to NewSouth as they continue to grow," noted David West, Equinox Executive Vice President. "NewSouth has always placed a great deal of value in protecting their network as well as their customers' networks from fraudulent activity. We appreciate NewSouth's business and look forward to supporting their telecom fraud management initiatives for many years".
