NASHVILLE, TN - February 8, 2000 - NEXTLINK Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: NXLK) has contracted with Equinox to upgrade NEXTLINK's 30-switch network to ShowCDR Deluxe, a sophisticated software system that gives carriers advanced means to view, search, and report call records from their PCs. The upgrade will expedite NEXTLINK's fraud prevention process by providing real-time access to call detail records (CDRs) for immediate investigation of potential fraud.
"When looking for irregular call usage patterns, ShowCDR Deluxe gives us the ability to search multiple CDR files and run reports simultaneously so we can quickly pull the data we need," explains Jared Anderson, Western Region Fraud Manager at NEXTLINK. "Instead of having to spend a lot of time finding information, we can now focus on investigating potential fraud. In fact, ShowCDR Deluxe is one of our most important tools for catching calling card fraud."
ShowCDR Deluxe is a menu-driven system that enables carriers to extract data from call detail records using sophisticated search techniques on any field or combination of values. A Report Generator allows users to create customized call reports by selecting and sorting call records based on any field, which provides users great flexibility in extracting information to create meaningful at-a-glance reports. Reports can also be exported to any spreadsheet or database applications for further customization.
"We are committed to providing dynamic companies like NEXTLINK solutions that give them tighter control and more reliability as their network expands," said David West, Executive Vice President at Equinox. "We have a longstanding relationship with NEXTLINK and believe this initiative will help give them an even greater competitive edge as they enter the new millennium."
ShowCDR Deluxe is part of a larger suite of Equinox software deployed by NEXTLINK for fraud control and network management, including Protector Deluxe, real-time fraud detection, and Collector, real-time call record collection.
