Equinox is a proud sponsor of CFCA and has been for 20+ years, with representatives attending all three annual events. This month I had the opportunity to attend my first — the 2016 Winter Educational Event, held in San Diego.

The conference was a rich environment for advancing the collective understanding and ability to combat telecom fraud. The agenda featured learning sessions on fraud trends and detection, along with networking time that is really what makes CFCA special. Multiple Equinox customers were in attendance, including presenters delivering case studies and panelists discussing industry hot topics. Chris Walters from Consolidated Communications was notably named the new CFCA President.

One of the traditions we maintain at CFCA events is hosting a customer dinner, and this year was no different. We gathered on Tuesday evening for a great meal — a chance to have real conversations away from the exhibit floor and panels.

The attendees' willingness to openly share experiences, fraud patterns, and mitigation strategies is what sets CFCA apart from other industry gatherings. If you're a fraud management professional and you haven't attended, I'd strongly encourage you to consider it. And if you're planning to be at a future CFCA event, let us know in advance — we'd be glad to connect.

The next meeting is scheduled for June 14–16, 2016 in Montreal for the 31st Annual Meeting and Summer Educational Event.
