NASHVILLE, TN — August 26, 2013 — TelEm Group of Companies, the telecommunications provider serving Sint Maarten, has adopted Equinox Information Systems' Protector fraud management solution. The decision was influenced by recommendations from existing users of the system.

Lisa-Maria Schalkwijk, TelEm's Manager of Accounts Payable & Revenue Assurance, explained their selection process: "Based on our previous experience with fraud, we evaluated a number of vendors for this project." She noted that witnessing the system in operation and receiving referrals from current users proved decisive.

Protector uses dynamic usage profiling and proprietary monitoring metrics rather than hardcoded fraud detection rules. The system alerts analysts to suspicious activity and employs weighted scoring algorithms to assess fraud risk. It includes case management tools for investigating suspicious events and currently processes hundreds of millions of call records daily.

David West, Executive Vice President at Equinox, remarked that Protector is "widely recognized as the most reliable and affordable FMS." He added that TelEm's direct observation of the system in use influenced their choice.
