Equinox Information Systems announced it has assisted Northland Communications, a fiber optics telecommunications provider, with implementing a business assurance solution. The company processes over 2 billion records daily for telecom providers globally and has been delivering fraud prevention, data mediation, and revenue optimization applications since 1986.
Northland Communications, which has served Central New York for more than 110 years, selected Equinox's Protector application following a recommendation from another carrier within the Equinox user community. The organization deployed the system to monitor network traffic with active call termination and automatic blocking capabilities.
According to Larry Combs, Senior Network Engineer at Northland Communications: "Deploying the Protector solution on our network is a key example of how Northland is continually working to provide customers with the best solutions and service through innovative technology."
The Protector fraud management system has reportedly saved carriers hundreds of millions in fraud losses over three decades. The system offers dynamic monitoring to detect emerging fraud patterns, immediate alerts for suspicious activity, and advanced blocking at the switch level or for active calls.
David West, EVP at Equinox, stated: "It's an honor to welcome Northland to the Equinox family, and we look forward to serving their business assurance needs now and into the future."
