Protector is a powerful tool in your fight against telecom fraud — and like any critical system, it includes monitoring resources to ensure everything is operating as expected. Knowing your system is healthy is just as important as knowing when fraud activity occurs. Below is an overview of the key monitoring alerts and tools available within Protector.

I'm Alive

This standard alert confirms that the CDR Processor and Warehouse services are operational. Equinox recommends configuring this notification to arrive once daily rather than hourly. Receiving it too frequently can cause important alerts to be overlooked amid email volume.

CDR Inactivity

This alert is triggered when data source file latency exceeds configured thresholds — meaning Protector has not received new data within the expected window. The inactivity interval should match your actual file delivery schedule to prevent false alarms.

No Violations

This alert activates when no violations occur within a specified timeframe. While it may initially sound like good news, it can signal a data delivery issue. When this alert fires, users should verify all switches for data delivery and confirm that adequate disk space is available.

Begin EOD / End EOD

These signals mark the start and completion of the daily End-of-Day process, typically scheduled for 4:00 a.m. Case resolution is unavailable during EOD processing, so these alerts help analysts plan their workflow accordingly.

CDR History

Enterprise Manager displays comprehensive records of all processed files by date and time. This view enables investigation of potential processing issues and should be reviewed daily by application owners. Equinox recommends configuring primary system monitors to receive all system and network alerts.
