Last week I traveled from Nashville to Phoenix for the Metaswitch Forum in Scottsdale, Arizona. The manufacturer-hosted event was different from the typical trade organization events I'd previously attended — and in all the right ways.

The exhibit hall opening revealed an environment where carriers were genuinely seeking valuable partnerships. Visitors to the Equinox booth were interested in learning about Protector for fraud prevention and TeleLink for revenue optimization, and we made connections with numerous prospective customers over the course of the event.

The forum also gave us the opportunity to reconnect with existing customers. On the second evening we organized a dinner gathering with approximately twenty customers — a tradition we try to maintain at every major industry event.

The final night featured a recreational outing to Top Golf, where attendees hit golf balls at illuminated targets synchronized with light displays and music. I joined colleagues David and Christi for the event, and it was a great way to close out the conference.

The event organizers were professional and helpful throughout. The opening keynote by Gene Kranz — Flight Director for Apollo 13 — was particularly memorable. The networking opportunities with Metaswitch platform users who need revenue protection and optimization services made this an exceptionally productive trip. Equinox supports over 300 different formats beyond Metaswitch, which means we're well positioned to serve the diverse network environments that carriers bring to us.
