NASHVILLE, TN — November 23, 2011 — Nashville-based Equinox Information Systems announced that TelNet Worldwide has implemented the Protector fraud management system. TelNet, located in Troy, Michigan, is a next-generation provider of business communications products and services. They licensed Protector in late 2010 to combat costly communications fraud. The software integrates with over 200 switches and data formats, including TelNet's Genband C3 switching platform.
Protector delivers real-time telecom fraud detection by identifying instances where customer usage deviates from expected patterns in ways suggesting fraudulent behavior. Throughout its twenty-year history, Protector has saved carriers millions of dollars by distinguishing fraudulent activity from legitimate usage.
Rick Riordan, TelNet's finance director, stated: "The Protector software safeguards the integrity of the network from hackers and other telco fraud criminals." He added that they "implemented Protector software across our entire switched network to protect our customers and business partners."
David Ledbetter, National Sales Director for Equinox, commented: "Protector will certainly play a key role for TelNet in spotting telecom fraud proactively rather than reactively."
