I started the new year stranded in an airport — a nine-hour flight delay on New Year's Eve. Not my preferred way to ring in January. But somewhere in that waiting, I got word of two new customer contracts. So I started 2019 with a reminder that even the frustrating moments can carry good news.

2018 gave Equinox a great deal to be grateful for.

On our team: Ernest Howell and Christi Vanoye celebrated 20 years with the company. Kevin Cantrell and Robert Hunter reached their 10-year milestones. Staff also celebrated personal milestones — graduations, weddings, new grandchildren. The tenure of our team remains one of the things I'm most proud of about this company.

On the business side: 2018 brought record revenue, driven by new customers including Allstream, Blue Valley, New Horizon, Saddleback, Reinvent Telecom, and WCS, plus expansions with existing customers across TeleLink and Protector.

For our user communities: we held the 20th Protector User Group Meeting and revived the TeleLink User Group Meeting — both events are on the calendar for 2019.

As we look ahead, the world offers plenty of reasons for uncertainty. But gratitude is a powerful antidote. In 2018, we are most grateful for the friendships we share with our customers, partners, and vendors — and we look forward to deepening those in the year ahead.
