(NASHVILLE, TN) March 4, 2022 — Market-leading telecom solutions provider Equinox Information Systems today announced the deployment of a custom business assurance solution they developed for Cox Communications, the largest private telecom company in the U.S.
Since 1986, Equinox’s applications have helped telecom companies around the world stop fraud, mediate usage data, manage expense, and optimize revenue. Equinox originally forged a relationship with Cox Communications in 2005 when they implemented the Protector fraud management solution (FMS) in the telecom giant’s Arizona and California subsidiaries. In 2015, Cox expanded Protector’s use across the entire corporation. For this most recent project, Cox teamed up with Equinox to streamline monitoring and alerting for a specific data source on their network.
“Protector has proven its ability to quickly and reliably get results in the fraud management arena, including supporting regional rules for our differing lines of business across the U.S.,” explained Ken Sandoval, Senior Technology Manager at Cox Communications. “As always, Equinox was responsive to our needs. They not only customized Protector to meet our business objectives, but they also completed the project ahead of schedule.”
Protector leads the market as the most reliable and cost-effective solution for combatting telecom fraud. The system’s dynamic and flexible monitoring metrics quickly identify fraudulent, unwanted, and abusive activity across all customer and call types. Easy-to-use configuration tools provide ultimate control of the system. Immediate alerts hasten response time and mitigate risk. Advanced blocking protocols allow Protector to shut down activity at the switch or tear down active calls if needed. And, integrated case management tools allow speedy incident investigation and resolution from the web.
“Equinox values the relationship we have established with Cox Communications these past 16 years,” said Equinox EVP David West. “Their reliance on Protector and its ability to provide custom revenue assurance and cost management features is a testament to Equinox’s position as the market-leading FMS supplier.”
