Earlier this week was Groundhog Day—an unofficial holiday marking the yearning for warmer temperatures and sunnier days. Lately, it has turned into quite the spectacle where tens of thousands of people descend upon Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to see whether a groundhog named Punxsutawney Phil casts a shadow. His shadow purportedly foretells the duration of the remaining winter. If he sees his shadow, six more weeks of winter will follow. However, if he does not see his shadow, spring will come early!
Did you know???
Just like Groundhog Day, there are certain days that indicate which season we are in, for example, the start of football and colorful leaves signifies fall, while Memorial Day’s family gatherings and hamburger grilling marks the start of summer, and Easter reminds us of new life with springtime buds and blooms. Such days are often better indicators of the current season than the weather for us in Nashville, where just last week we had 60° temperatures one day and then 20° the next.
Regardless of whether Phil saw his shadow this week, we know spring is near thanks to our trade show schedule, which kicks off in 6 weeks! You can find us at the following shows in the coming months:
CCA Expo—in Atlanta, GA from March 24th-March 27th
