Equinox has hosted scores of user groups over the years. While each event is unique and memorable, the 2020 TeleLink User Group Meeting (TUGM) stands on its own in terms of being unforgettable!
The TUGM requires many hours of upfront planning and often requires us to adapt those plans to accommodate changes and other external factors that might impact the event. For example, we secured the venue for the 2019 TUGM in 2018, long before the NFL selected Nashville to host the NFL draft...on the same week and area of town as our event. At the time, it was challenging, as virtually every downtown venue and restaurant was competing for big buyout parties associated with the draft. There were street closures before, during, and after the event, as well as other logistical obstacles. But all that stuff was manageable, especially knowing the end result was to gather with you, our customers.
So, after that experience, we felt confident as we neared the 2020 TUGM and had plans firmly in place. We had no idea how drastically everything would change in the span of a few days. As the COVID19 pandemic unfolded, there were certainly many unknowns; however, our level of customer appreciation and desire to host a user group remained resolute.
Like many of you, Equinox transitioned to a remote work environment. We are extremely fortunate that our infrastructure allowed us to pivot quickly. So, we immediately began developing alternate plans for hosting the event safely and responsibly.
After finding and testing an online application, transforming the agenda to the new format, and communicating the changes, we had no idea what to expect. After all, everyone was facing unique challenges personally and professionally during this unprecedented time. We recognized that you might not have time due to the increasing telecom workload of keeping the country connected and you might prefer an in-person user group to one online.
As always, you amazed us and signed up in record numbers! Your messages of support, eagerness to register, submission of wish list points beforehand, participation and questions during the event, your kind words afterward on the survey are all truly UNFORGETTABLE. We are sad that we did not gather in person and treat you to dinner while catching up on the past year, but we are so grateful to have you as partners on this journey.
We posted the TUGM webinars and reference materials to the Equinox online library. So, if you were unable to attend or want to review the sessions again, we’ve got you covered.
The 2020 TeleLink User Group Meeting was unprecedented and unforgettable indeed. Thank you all!
