(NASHVILLE, TN) June 4, 2024 – Equinox Information Systems proudly shared details today for their annual Protector User Group Meeting (PUGM). The educational, networking conference is a staple in the industry-leading fraud management solution (FMS) supplier’s yearly lineup and is wildly popular with their customers. In fact, early registration numbers point to another attendance record.
Equinox looks forward to welcoming the Protector community to Nashville’s Music City Center on September 11 and 12 for two days of fraud management information and training. In conjunction with last year’s 25th anniversary celebration, Equinox unveiled a new format for PUGM that also applies to the 2024 conference. That means the first day (Wednesday, September 11) gets underway at noon and is followed by a full day of sessions (Thursday, September 12). The event’s training, expert presentations, and best practice demonstrations give service providers, loss/fraud prevention experts, fraud analysts, NOC staff, engineers, switch personnel, technical support, and billing specialists from all sectors of telecom the tools and resources they need to mitigate risk and protect their revenue from fraudulent and unwanted network events. In preparation for PUGM 2024, Equinox is once again hosting a ‘Protector 101: System Overview and Introduction’ online pre-session. That August 27 level-set training is open to any Equinox community member regardless of their ability to attend PUGM in Nashville the following month.
The name Protector is synonymous with fraud management in the telecommunications industry. The Protector FMS provides real-time protection, supports KYC (Know Your Customer) efforts, generates immediate alerts, and automatically blocks or actively tears down calls when warranted. Beyond that, Protector 11’s architecture handles hundreds of millions of records per day while maintaining lightning-fast interface response times. Its processing engine supports all record types, includes advanced security and privacy protocols, dramatically eases setup and administration time, and, thanks to an extremely extensible framework, it removes many barriers that constrained previous fraud management solutions.
“Although this year marks the 26th consecutive year we’ve hosted the Protector User Group Meeting, we’re still finding innovative ways to ensure the event is relevant, timely, and vital for all attendees,” explained Equinox Support VP Chris Lowe. “Not only are Protector’s features and future development efforts driven almost exclusively by customer feedback but so are all the programs we offer. We devote a significant portion of every user group to having our customers tell us how we can best serve them, and then we immediately begin bringing those ideas to life. To that end, we’ve overhauled the agenda, switched up the event’s format, and enlisted a greater variety of speakers both from Equinox and the telecom industry in recent years. We can’t wait to hear how we can further help them this coming year!”
