(NASHVILLE, TN) February 17, 2020—Equinox Information Systems, a leading supplier of business assurance solutions for the telecommunications industry, reports that NorthState has elected to upgrade to the Case Manager Portal (CMP) application as part of their continuing fraud management efforts. Currently processing over 2 billion records daily for service providers around the world, Equinox has helped telecom companies stop fraud, mediate usage data, manage expense, and optimize revenue since 1986. NorthState, a fiber optic network, cloud, IT services, and cybersecurity provider, selected Equinox for this latest project based on the existing relationship between the two companies, which began in 2013.
NorthState initially selected Equinox to deploy the TeleLink platform for summary reporting and traffic analysis of their SS7 data. Based on that venture’s success, North State then relied on Equinox to replace an existing legacy mediation system that feeds their CABs and EUB systems and gives North State the data they need for network management, dispute investigation, and customer care functions. At the same time, North State licensed Equinox’s automated fraud management system, called Protector.
“Based on the results achieved with the previous traffic analysis, usage validation, and fraud mitigation projects, Equinox was the clear choice for this latest task,” explained Greg Groppe, Director, Corporate Technology for NorthState. “TeleLink and Protector have both yielded positive returns far beyond the initial investment and ongoing cost of maintenance. Plus, the Equinox support team is fantastic.”
Currently processing hundreds of millions of records per day, Protector is the industry’s most affordable and reliable solution for fighting telecommunications fraud. Immediate alerts about unwanted or suspicious incidents speed response time and mitigate risk. Dynamic monitoring metrics allow Protector to detect the newest fraud schemes, regardless of customer or call type. Advanced blocking protocols allow Protector to shut down activity at the switch or tear down active calls. Protector’s reputation is well earned, having saved carriers hundreds of millions of dollars in fraud losses last year alone.
“We appreciate the opportunity to partner with NorthState on their business assurance projects these past seven years,” commented Equinox Executive Vice President, David West. “NorthState’s continued reliance on Equinox is a testament to our commitment to customers and our relationship with them.”
