NASHVILLE, TN — January 2, 2013 — Equinox Information Systems announced that Armstrong Telephone Company has expanded its existing TeleLink deployment to include least-cost routing analysis capabilities. Armstrong, a Pennsylvania-based independent telephone company providing voice, data, and video services across Pennsylvania and West Virginia, had previously deployed TeleLink for revenue assurance and is building on that foundation with additional routing analytics functionality.
The least-cost routing analysis capabilities within TeleLink allow carriers to evaluate how traffic is being routed across interconnection agreements and identify whether calls are taking the most cost-effective paths. The platform compares actual call routing data against rate tables and contracted carrier agreements, surfacing routing inefficiencies and opportunities to reduce interconnection costs. For Armstrong, this extends the platform's existing revenue assurance work with proactive analysis that directly impacts network operating costs.
Tom Wilson, representing Armstrong Telephone Company, described the decision to expand: "TeleLink has been valuable to us for revenue assurance, so adding the routing analysis capabilities was a natural extension." He noted that having both functions within the same platform, working from the same underlying usage data, provides consistency and reduces the overhead of managing separate systems.
David West, Executive Vice President at Equinox, expressed his appreciation for Armstrong's continued investment: "When a long-term customer like Armstrong expands their use of TeleLink, it reflects the value they're getting from the platform. Routing cost management is an area where the ROI is often immediate and measurable."
