TUGM 2018—The Start of a New Tradition

By Amy Oldham
May 2, 2018

Last week, Equinox proudly reintroduced the TeleLink User Group Meeting. A great deal has changed in the industry and at Equinox since we last hosted a TeleLink User Group six years ago. What hasn’t changed is how much we love our customers, that we have the best and brightest customers in the telecommunications industry, and how eager we are to get together with them! That wish came true last week on April 24 and 25.

As we planned to revive the TeleLink User Group Meeting, we weren’t exactly sure what to expect...now that it’s over, the word that best describes the event is COMMUNITY. We had a great time getting to know each attendee better and collaborating with them on future product features. Because we have personal relationships with and offer individual service to each customer, the whole TeleLink support staff was present throughout the event. They led a special tips and tricks panel for getting the most out of the system. Another crowd favorite was having the two lead TeleLink architects on hand for the event. Both developers immersed attendees in the behind-the-scenes components of TeleLink, explaining how to fully leverage every available feature for maximum revenue optimization and protection. They also fielded questions throughout the event.

This year’s event drew multiple representatives from over a dozen different companies spanning the telecom marketspace. No matter their business model, coverage area, or service offerings, every attendee belongs to the Equinox community. All aspects of the conference were designed to give that community an in-depth look at everything TeleLink offers, complete with usage and best practice guidelines from the system architects and implementation specialists. Based on the feedback from the recent meeting, it’s clear that participants share our view of Equinox users as part of a very special and loyal community. As a follow-up to the recent gathering, Equinox will publish a recap of the development and support sessions soon (perfect for sharing with your team or others at your organization who could not attend the TeleLink User Group Meeting).

Beyond the education sessions, training, and collaboration, we hosted a traditional group dinner the first evening of the event. Held at Martin’s Barbeque Joint downtown, dinner was served family style in a private dining area with access to the venue’s ping-pong table, dart boards, and shuffleboard. Based on the comments afterward, everyone loved it! It was a relaxing evening, filled with lots of laughter and delicious food! It also allowed customers to put a face with the Support person on the other end of the phone, along with ample networking time among carriers who represent every segment of the telecom industry.

Judging by the comments and conference evaluation metrics, the TeleLink User Group Meeting was a rousing success! In fact, we’ve already made plans to formally reinstitute this event annually. We’ll send out an official 'Save the Date' announcement soon, with complete details and registration site available about 6 months before the event. We can’t wait to see everyone again next year! Better yet, we hope to see you all this fall for the Protector User Group Meeting (October 22-24).
